Sid Buzzell

About the Author

Dr. Sid Buzzell is the Dean of the School of Theology at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado, where he teaches Bible courses, leadership, and homiletics. He received a B.S. from Philadelphia College of Bible, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. At Colorado Christian University, Dr. Buzzell combines his passion for theology with his extensive leadership expertise. Hired onto the faculty of CCU as Academic Vice President, Dr. Buzzell has been a Professor of Biblical Exposition and Leadership at the university since 1997. Before serving at Colorado Christian University, Dr. Buzzell held the position of Academic Dean and Professor of Pastoral Theology at both Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (1995–1997), and Conservative Baptist Seminary of the East in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania (1993–1995). Prior to this, he was the Director of the Christian Leadership Program and Professor of Management and Leadership for Colorado Christian University’s School of Professional Studies (1992–1993) and an Assistant Professor for Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas (1974–1982). He is also an Adjunct Professor for Denver Seminary, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Eastern College. Internationally, Dr. Buzzell has trained and taught leaders across Europe, Asia, and Africa, doing extensive work in Austria, China, Indonesia, and Poland. He currently teaches MA courses in Leadership Development in Egypt, India, and Nepal. In addition to teaching, Dr. Buzzell has extensive ministry experience outside of academia as well. Since the mid-60s, he has been a founding and senior pastor at several churches nation wide and was officially ordained at the Billings Bible Church in Billings, Montana, in 1998. He has also been on staff for the Word of Life Inn fellowship ministry while speaking at various Christian camps and retreats. Furthermore, he has participated in numerous conferences for well-respected organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, The Navigators, the National Association of Evangelicals, and World Vision International. From 1973–1979, he was the Dallas Area Director for the Christian Medical Society, and in 1993 he gave ethics lectures to Russian military officers at the Russian Humanitarian Academy in Moscow for the World International Military Conference. Dr. Buzzell is a noted published author having contributed to various biblical commentaries such as the Bible Knowledge Commentary andLearning from Sages. His most exhaustive work remains Handbook to Leadership. He also was the general editor and a contributor toThe Leadership Bible and The Promise Keepers Bible both by Zondervan Publishing.
